Lila F. Myers, 84, of Topeka, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2018.

She was born November 15, 1933, in Netawaka, Kansas, the daughter of Bert and Cora (Rickel) Hallauer. She was raised in Jackson and Brown communities and graduated from Netawaka High School in 1951 and Clarks School of Business, Topeka, in 1953.

Mrs. Myers worked for various engineering firms for 35 years, retiring from Van Doren, Hazard and Stallings in 1996. Throughout her life she had been a Cub Scout, Brownie and Girl Scout leader and taught Sunday School at Netawaka, Crestview and Countryside United Methodist Churches.

She was active in politics and was formerly vice-chairman of the Shawnee County Democratic Central Committee, president of the Shawnee County Democratic Women’s Club, on the Board of Directors of the Kansas Federation of Democratic Women’s Club and treasurer of Democratic Action Committee.

Mrs. Myers enjoyed sports and spent countless hours watching her children and grandchildren play their various games. Her hobby was genealogy and she enjoyed golf, reading, embroidery, flower gardening, traveling and overnights with her grandchildren.

She married Jean Craig Evans on September 26, 1953. He preceded her in death on November 4, 1977. She married Francis Lander on March 23, 1979. He preceded her in death on December 19, 1994. On April 23, 1996 she married Richard L. Myers. He preceded her in death on February 22, 2010.

Also preceding her in death were a baby daughter, her parents, four brothers: Weldon, Frederic, Merton and Norman Hallauer and three sisters: Aileen Oxandale, Vivian Mapes and Faye Minton.

Survivors include three children, Stephen (Juk) Evans, Debra (Robert) Edwards and Warren (Mary) Evans, all of Topeka; seven grandchildren, Daniel (Raegan) Kebert, Topeka, Joseph (Kimberly) Kebert, Lowell, AR, Etienne (Suzanne) Evans, Montreal, Canada, Andrew Evans, Topeka, Taylor Evans, Austin, TX and Ayrton and Ciana Evans, Topeka; seven great-grandchild, Clay, Koie and Hope Kebert, Lowell, AR, Kaemyn, Kellam and Koen Kebert, Topeka and Emilia Evans, Montreal, Canada.

As per her wishes, Mrs. Myers was cremated. A celebration of life ceremony will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 14, 2018 at the Dove Cremations and Funerals, Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd, Topeka. Private family inurnment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Topeka, at a later date.
