David J. Mlynek, 77, of Topeka, passed away on Thursday, May 24, 2018. He was born February 27, 1941 in Manhattan, Kansas, the son of Ernest and Frances (Sender) Mlynek.

David graduated from Topeka High School in 1959. He was an Army Veteran and a member of the Kansas Army National Guard. He was an electrician and a member of I.B.E.W. Local #226 for over 55 years. David was a member of Central Church of Christ. He enjoyed golf and woodworking.

David married Nola C. Hoffmeister on October 16, 1964 in Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include their daughter, Colette House of Olathe, Kansas, one grandson, Alex House and his siblings, James (Linda) Mlynek of Topeka and Madonna Powers of Crystal Beach, Texas.

David was preceded in death by his siblings, Theodore, Esther, Drucella and Paul.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Church of Christ where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Private inurnment will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Tallgrass Christian Camp, P.O. Box 156, Emporia, Kansas 66801.

Dove Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd. is assisting the family.
