Jackie “Jack” D. Merryman, 77, of Topeka, passed away Monday, July 9, 2018.

He was born June 29, 1941 in Harper, Kansas, to Vernon LeRoy and Genevieve (Troyer) Merryman who both preceded him in death.

Jack attended Highland Park High School. He began working for Lower Plumbing, Heating and Air in 1972. He worked at Lowers for 44 years before retiring to his first love of fishing. He supplied many friends, neighbors and family with fresh crappie and walleye.

Jack is survived by a sister, JoAnn (Sherman) Epperson, Topeka; two nieces, Tracy (Warren) Seitz, Seneca and Christy (Jeff) Griggs, Topeka; a nephew, Curt (Denise) Epperson, Silver Lake; four great nieces, Breanna Seitz, Danielle (Zach) Atzeni, Shaley and Shelbie Epperson; a great nephew, Tegan Seitz; and a great-great nephew, Jayden Seitz.

Jack enjoyed spending time with family, especially watching his nephew Curt drag race, camping, water skiing and was an avid KU Fan.

Honoring his request, cremation is planned. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 13, 2018 at the Dove Cremations and Funerals, Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd, Topeka, where a celebration of life will be at until 11:00 a.m. with a reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Great Lakes Caring Hospice, 3715 SW 29th, Suite 100, Topeka, KS 66614 or to American Cancer Society, 1315 SW Arrowhead Road, Topeka, KS 66604.
