John was born on September 7, 1948 to Clifford and Helen VanSickle.
He graduated from El Dorado High School, where he was an active musician. He served in the Navy during the Vietnam War. After being honorably discharged, he joined Local Union 441 plumbers and pipefitters, where he served as the vice-president.
John married Lori (Oliver) VanSickle on June 10, 2000.
He will be remembered as a good guitar player, excellent fisherman, dedicated union member, exceptional welder, and a loving father and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, C.L. VanSickle.
John is survived by his wife, a son Ry (Joanne) VanSickle, three daughters; Lana Hewitt, Tricia Failer, Tracie (Ryan) Fidler, nine grandchildren; Jacob, Skylur, Ryan, Corey, Lorilye, Chelsea, Melissa, Kaitlynn, Alexis and three great-grandchildren; Kaden, Josiah, Malayla and one brother, Steve (Chris) VanSickle.
A Celebration of Life is pending.
