Dear Marcia, Brett and Yvonne, my heart aches for you and I ask our Jesus to wrap His strong arms around you as you miss Clark being Here...
To me, he will always have a presence in our world. Thank you for lending him to us all...
I can't count the times Clark would, after I had inquired...speak with a sweet smile and gentle voice
about how you, Marcia were doing. He once called you his lovely, sweet bride.
Yvonne, he did tell me about you being 'his swan', when he said those words, his right hand lay over his heart.
Brett, wow, your dad had much pride in you...he would reveal small tidbits about you as he and I would wait to
minister in different places. It was sooo awesome.
Finally, I hold you all before our Father as you move through getting used to Clark being in
his 'New' place...rejoicing with His Jesus. I love you all.
~ Cindy Casebeer/Barnwell - October 3, 2018
I have fond memories of Clark and Marcia through their involvement with Kansas Association of Osteopathic Medicine where Marcia was working and Clark would attend meetings especially after his retirement.
He always had a kind and meaningful word.

What a man. What a family. May our Savior give you peace in your time of need. I will miss this man of God. He spoke truth in love, and strength. God Bless ya'll.

As you probably know Clark and I became good friends as soon as he became a board member at TRM. We were acquainted with each other in the community but after TRM we became prayer warriors and fellow ministers working for the Kingdom of God. He loved to come over to Oakland Campus and fill in for me. they enjoyed him so much they wanted to know when I was going on vacation he will be so so missed. On behalf of the Board of Directors we are so sorry for your loss but we know he is enjoying his Jesus Hal Smith President of the Board

Pastor Clark was one of my favorite pastors ever. He mentored me, discipled me, coached me as I developed the skills I would need as a pastor, and sponsored me when I went away to Louisville for seminary. I owe him a great debt. I will miss him terribly.

Precious Pastor. Discerning friend. Thank you for always.

Pastor Johnson was the pastor at Royal Palms Baptist in Phoenix when my wife Patrice and I (Randy) were married in 1988 and officiated our ceremony. He was an amazing counselor and pastor to us in our early marriage. Our last visit with him and his family was in Pine top Arizona. We were able to attend worship with him and his family there at the church there. He was an amazing encourager and mentor. Love to his family and friends who may be grieving.

Pastor Clark - Pastor, mentor, encourager, guidance counselor, friend - he's all that to me since 1981 and more. We met in Flagstaff when I was a grad student at NAU and he was the pastor of the First Southern Baptist Church. Certainly a wonderful preacher and teacher, he and Marcia befriended our family and drew us into ministry in various ways. When he left to pastor at Royal Palms in the Phoenix area, we were heartbroken. But we stayed in touch and after graduation he helped me transition back into Music Ministry at First Southern Baptist in Scottsdale. We did some revivals together, which was great fun and exciting as he preached and I led the music. I think we hoped that someday we might be able to serve together at the same church. But we moved from Scottsdale AZ to New Jersey and then to Topeka Kansas. When First Southern Baptist in Topeka, where I was serving as the part-time Music Minister, started a search for a new pastor, I threw his name in the hat, but knew he'd never want to leave Arizona. Or so I thought. When he became the church's choice, we were thrilled. And when he and the family came to visit he was quick to point out that if called and he accepted, I was on the hook to stay and do music there with him. Not a hard choice for me at all. Personally he helped me and my family through several rough times and transitions. Always non-judgmental, but firm in his guidance at times, we felt loved and cared for. I miss him, as I know MANY people do. God bless you Pastor Clark and much love, thoughts and prayers for Marcia, Yvonne, Bret and the whole Johnson extended family... your friend always... Wayne.

We loved Clark so very much. Had some great times with him while he was our pastor in pinetop az.

Marcia, Yvonne and Brett:
Our hearts are heavy for your sorrow and grief. We offer our condolence to each of your family members. We pray for complete dependence on God for perfect comfort, peace and goodness.
Aneda had the privilege of hearing Clark preach at First Southern recently and it brought back precious memories of when we lived in Topeka and was under the leadership of Pastor Clark. Thanks to our Lord and Savior for Pastor Clarks life and his unfailing message; “Jesus was both one hundred percent God and one hundred percent man. That Jesus was everything He said He was.” Pastor Clark humbly gave the message of Jesus. What a legacy!
In Christ alone,
Andy and Aneda Hanschu

I was deeply saddened to learn of Clark's passing. We only worked together a few months but I got to know you and had the privilege of meeting Clark. What a wonderful man, husband, father, and pastor he was! I knew that from the love in your voice when you spoke of him and your marriage. The highest compliment you can give someone upon their passing is, "He left the world a better place than he found it." Clark is one of those people who worked everyday to make the world a better place. There is no greater legacy anyone can have. Please accept my deepest sympathies and condolences and those of all KAOM members.
~ Vicki Whitaker - September 26, 2018
Our love to Marsha, Yvonne and Brett. May God wrap His loving arms around you during this difficult time. It was a honor to work in the ministry with Clark on staff at Royal Palms as Preschool Director along with my father -in-law, Mayo Brown, Sr, Adult Minister. Clark was a soft spoken gentleman, loving and caring Pastor. He was a godly man who preached directly from the Bible. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Alice, Truett, Myles, Michael and Morgan Brown.
~ Alice Brown - September 26, 2018
We were so saddened to hear of pastor Clarks passing. Pastor had a huge impact on our family, first marrying us, then later baptizing several of our children and of course providing weekly spiritual guidance that only Clark could deliver in the way that he did at the pulpit. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the Johnson family and will have you in our prayers. Pastor was such a huge presence in our church and in the Topeka community. Clarks contributions in spiritual council and guidance on a personal level for so many has provided such direction and comfort that his absence will be felt by many folks.
Like many at FSBC Topeka, we really missed Clarks direction and steady hand when he retired several years ago, however, we always felt that pastors involvement with the TRM was such a very fitting place for the application of Clarks passion for "His Jesus", people in need, and those in spiritual crisis and was a perfect fit for this spiritual warrior for Christ. Looking beyond the pain of Clarks passing all that knew Clark will find comfort in the fact that Clark is now home with "His Jesus" and I am sure sharing great counsel at the feet of the Father.
In sympathy for your loss,
The Holmberg family

God Bless you all at this time of your loss.
Marcia, you and Pastor Clark were a blessing to Troy and I. I was so sorry to hear of his passing. I know Troy is there to greet Pastor Clark and have a wonderful homecoming with him.
I love you, Marcia.

So sad and shocked to be informed of Pastor Clark Johnson's passing while we were at church Sunday morning. We have known Pastor Clark since we first came to Topeka in 2004. We both loved and appreciated his teachings and friendship. Chuck was so honored to get to work with him at FSBC. He will be greatly missed by us and everyone who had the privilege to know him, but we know he is rejoicing with Jesus in Heaven. Marsha, please accept our deepest condolences to you and your family.

Words cannot express my sadness over this news. My prayer is that God will give you strength and peace for your heavy hearts during this extremely difficult time.
Pastor Clark holds a very special place in my heart from personal home visits when my children came into my life, to personal growth, parent dedications, baptisms for myself and my children, and Sunday services. I love each and everyone of you!
~ Pamela Smeltzer - September 25, 2018
Pastor Clark was a mentor and spiritual leader for me. In the years that he pastored me at First Southern Baptist Church I grew in my knowledge and love of Jesus Christ. I would not be where I am today without our Pastor Clark's love and obedience to Jesus. I am very sad to think of our world without him. I know that Heaven is rejoicing to have him, but I will miss him and knowing that he is here with us making life more beautiful and wise and witty. Love you Pastor. With great warmth and love, Ruth A. Cotton (maiden name Tate)

My deepest sympathy, Marcia and family, for your loss. My you find some solace and joy in fond memories, numerous shared stories and the knowledge that Clark now shares the glory of heaven. Many hugs dear friend.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I remember spending so much time with your family at Royal Palms. My thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Johnson family.

First Baptist Church of Pinetop sends their sympathy. A donation has been given to The Topeka Rescue Mission in his honor. We are all praying for the family and Clark will be missed.
~ First Baptist Church Pinetop - September 25, 2018
I am so grateful for your father and my friend Clark. He was always interested in me and invested in me while I was pastor at First Southern. Certainly, he was a man who loved to invest in and mentor others as you have stated. He and I had a unique relationship and we had many discussions about matters which only two pastors would fully understand. I am saddened by his loss, but, I know he is enjoying "his Jesus" in a way that is now far beyond what he, or any of us can even begin to imagine. Thank you God for Clark Johnson and the legacy he left in the church, in his family and in his friends.
~ Gary Smith - September 25, 2018
It is with a sad and heavy heart to hear of Clark’s passing. My prayers go with the family during this time. I had the privilege to serve alongside Clark as Minister of Education at First Southern Baptist Church, Topeka. There was a time when our Senior Adult Minister, Jerry Dunn, was making a hospital visit and the member was appreciative of Jerry’s presence until Pastor Clark walked in. Her excited response was, “Look! the real Preacher is here.”
I can hear Jerry Dunn say, in heaven, “Hey guys look! the real Preacher is here.”
Thank you Pastor Clark.

Brett, Renee, Jayden, Taylor and family,
I didn't know Clark long, but I felt like I knew him forever. He always took an interest in what I was doing and made me feel like it was the most important thing that anyone could do. What a great spirit he has. We will miss him here, but I look forward to seeing him again someday.
God bless you all as you grieve his absence from this earth but celebrate the fact that he will be with "his Jesus."
~ Chuck Knapp - September 24, 2018
Clark was my pastor in Pinetop Arizona. He and Marsha were friends of the family and they spend many an evening out my parents home playing cards. When I married Tom he came to our home and hunted night crawlers and witness to my unsaved husband. After my husband Tom became a believer he still pastored us as a young couple. We left Pinetop in 1976 and my husband surrender to the ministry. When Tom and I moved to Kansas we were grateful that we were able to attend 1st Southern Baptist Church occasionally. Clark and Marsha were always a strong Christian influence on our lives. Thank you Johnson family for your faithfulness. I pray that you know God's strength as you go through the grieving process.
~ Cathy Shepard - September 24, 2018
Clark was an awesome servant for his Jesus. He was so helpful to our family. I will never forget the first time I heard him preach I knew he was an Arizona preacher. We even shared the same friends in Phoenix. My heart breaks for his family. We will miss his smooth comforting voice and words of advice. May you be greeted by Jesus with open arms. Jesus has a wonderful angel with him now. Miss you Clark. Priscilla Mccabe
~ Priscilla Mccabe - September 24, 2018
The statement that "Clark loved his Jesus" embodies everything he was. He taught me to love my Jesus as a child and I will forever be grateful for the impact he had in my life and on my family. He was not only our pastor but our friend.
~ Kim Curry - September 24, 2018
We played golf almost every Tuesday and Friday together for a few years. It was always a fun fun time. We even thru in a few ski trips. Clark was a big influence in my life. He was loved by everyone he met. God called home a great one. Prayers for the family.

Clark was my pastor growing up. He was the best pastor and was great at keeping my attention and was the only pastor that didn't make my grandpa fall asleep.
~ Tiffany Pierson - September 24, 2018
So sorry to hear this news. We sure have a lot of memories from Clark's time at FSBC. Our prayers are with you at this time.

Pastor Clark was such an incredible man. His love for Jesus was seen in everything he did. He was a huge inspiration to my whole family! Baptized my 3 oldest sons and they still have those letters he wrote to them! My heart is sad for his sweet family. Praying for peace and comfort for you all! While he was a blessing to everyone he came in contact with, heaven truly was blessed with an angel today.
Rest In Peace Pastor

Clark was a dear friend and mentor to me. I am deeply saddened to hear of his passing. I have very fond memories of our conversations.
~ Dr. Lew Shannon - September 24, 2018
I’m so sorry to hear about Pastor Johnson’s passing. He was the first pastor I knew as a boy at First southern Flagstaff and a true friend to my family. While Clark moved away before I was really old enough to get to know him, some of my earliest and fondest memories involve him. I used to love to listen to my father Larry Deibel laugh and reminisce about his friendship with Clark. He was a tremendous friend to my dad. Johnson family, I pray for your peace in his passing, but pray you know that he ran the race well, and I know He has is rejoicing in heaven!! He and my father are already singing praises together like the old days. We love you Johnson family.
~ Seth Deibel - September 24, 2018
Dear Marcia, Yvonne, and Brett, so sorry you have to go through this painful time. As you know, Clark was a wonderful pastor, teacher, mentor, friend, and fine family man who lived to serve Jesus and many others. I remember well when you all arrived in Topeka and God used Clark in a powerful way to heal the church. I cannot count the times when he was there for me. Such a life cannot die, but has been fully guaranteed of a glorious eternity with our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. God used Clark to give that message of hope to many, and no doubt his eternal reward is great. I remember well how Clark told of this "phenomenonal God" we belong to, and how Christ is our reward. May you experience God's comfort and presence through this time of grief
~ Stuart Dietz - September 24, 2018
Clark and I formed a bond of friendship about ten years ago. We've preached for each other. One of the highlights of our friendship was our every other week lunch together. I'll really miss this special fellowship. He and I shared very similar beliefs and views, and I look forward to seeing him with the saints in Glory. My prayers for comfort for the family.
~ Terry Neidens - September 24, 2018
Clark is someone we will always remember for his love of the Lord, never passing up an opportunity to encourage everyone. We played golf together just last August and I delighted in listening to him share his experiences in all manner of topics. He will be sorely missed. That smile and firm handshake, he was one of a kind and I was blessed to know him.
~ JAMES STOUT - September 24, 2018
