Lyman "Dale" Bonnett
1932 - 2018

Lyman "Dale" Bonnett, 86, of Berryton, Kansas, passed away on Sunday, October 7, 2018. He was born February 22, 1932 in Smith Center, Kansas, the son of Marvin and Hilda (Stoner) Bonnett.

Dale graduated from Smith Center High School and attended Kansas State University. He was a Navy Veteran, serving 2 tours of active duty during the Korean War. He resided in the Topeka and Berryton communities since 1958. Dale was employed by DuPont for 34 years before retiring. After retirement, Dale found a passion for personal computing, evolving from the mechanic’s approach of taking his hard drive apart and putting it back together for fun, to day-trading on-line and helping friends and neighbors with their home computing challenges. He was also a member of the V.F.W. and the American Legion.

Dale married Margaret Katherine Mayes on February 1, 1957 in Beloit, Kansas. She preceded him in death on March 2, 2013. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Doyle Bonnett, and sister, Dorothy (Bonnett) Palmer.

Survivors include their children, Monte Dale Bonnett of Topeka, Terry Allen Bonnett, daughter in-law, Ye Feng Bonnett and their children, Nicholas Monte and Annie Katherine Bonnett of Fishers, Indiana, daughter, Stephanie Lynn Bonnett of Kansas City, Missouri, sister, Bernetta (Bonnett) Bose, and a host of nieces and nephews throughout the Midwest.

Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, October 14, 2018 at Lynn Creek Cemetery southeast of Topeka. Dale will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Easterseals Capper Foundation, 3500 SW 10th Ave., Topeka, Kansas 66604.
