Survivors include six children: Barbara "Barb" Myers of Topeka, Robert Mendoza, Larry (Rosemary) Mendoza, Caroline (Jim) Thompson, and Anthony "Tony" Mendoza all of Arizona, and Diana (Frank) Martucci of Ohio; 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Juanita "Jennie" (Alfred) Barron and Evelia "Valie" (Tony) Rojas and one brother, Rodolfo "Rudy" Mendoza.
Arsenio was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Theresa Ortiz and one brother, Arthur Mendoza.
Arsenio was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. He enjoyed playing baseball on a team sponsored by Harold's Prize Package and La Siesta. He also enjoyed watching KU basketball, Royals baseball and the Chiefs football games. He liked visiting on the phone with his grandchildren and family that didn't live in the area. He spent a great deal of time with his daughter, Barb going to visit friends, going out to eat (Wendy's chili) or out to enjoy a banana split!
Arsenio will lie in state from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday, October 15, 2018 at Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Avenue where the family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Topeka. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 201 NE Chandler, Topeka, Kansas 66616.
