Marilyn Rose Blowey, 82, Lenexa, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2018.
She was born Jan. 12, 1936, in Wichita, the daughter of Keever Ralph and Roseanna Ruth (Doyle) Larrick. She graduated from Augusta (Kan.) High School and attended Kansas State University.
Marilyn married Richard Adelbert Blowey June 10, 1956, in Augusta. He survives. Other survivors include three children, Douglas L. (Susan) Blowey, Shawnee Mission, Kan., Cheryl L. (Martin) Rude, Winfield, Kan., and Jennifer R. (Christopher) Godfrey, Shawnee Mission; sevengrandchildren, Christine (Eric) Sponsel, Maggie Blowey, Bridget Blowey, Jacob Rude, Emma Blowey, Allison Godfrey and Lily Godfrey; one great-grandchild, Sophia Sponsel; a brother, David (Cindy) Larrick, Jefferson City, Mo., and a sister, Jan Jones, Burien, Wash.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She was a member of First United Methodist, Topeka, and P.E.O. She enjoyed traveling, spending time with family, cooking, reading, crossword puzzles, playing bridge, singing in the choir, and volunteering as a Girl Scout leader and for ERC/Designer Show House.
Honoring Marilyn’s request, cremation is planned. A memorial service will be Dec. 22, 10:30 a.m., at Lakeview Village, Heritage Center, 9100 Park Dr., Lenexa. Memorials are suggested to ERC Resource and Referral, 1100 SW Wanamaker Road, Suite 201, Topeka, KS 66604. Dove Cremation and Funerals, Southwest Chapel in Topeka is assisting the family.
