Millie Lang, 91, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, December 30, 2018.

She was born September 2, 1927, in Overbrook, Kansas, the daughter of Lyle Sylvanus and Amelia Sarah (Ainley) Heberling. She was a graduate of Topeka High School.

She was employed by Josten’s in Topeka.

She was an active member of PTA with State Street School and was a member of the Art Association of Topeka.

Millie married Earl E. Lang on September 13, 1947 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on March 19, 2017. Survivors include four children, Jodi Bryant, Burlingame, Linda Drake, Topeka, Earl “Bud” Lang, Spokane, WA and Teena Kurtz, Topeka; twelve grandchildren, Jimmy Bickell, Angie Bickell, Dennis Long, Staci Danielson, Matthew Bullock, Clayton Bullock, Bryan Drake, Jennifer Bowman, Jamie Lang, Daniel Lang, Greg Lang, Joe Kurtz; 19 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Marion Heberling and Herb Heberling.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Jim Bickell; a step-daughter, Linda Shuford; two brothers, Roger Helm, Johnny Heberling; and a sister, Darlene Gooding.


Millie was a talented artist, musician, poet, carpenter, gardener and seamstress. She loved music, cooking and shopping in general especially flea market shopping.

Flowers and cards can be sent to 3727 NE Seward Ave., Topeka, KS 66616. A celebration of her life will be held from 1:00 p.m. Sunday, January 6, 2019 at the Crestview Community Center, 4801 SW Shunga Drive, Topeka, KS.
