Dorothy Ann Rasmussen, 82, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, January 1, 2019, at her residence in Topeka.

Dorothy was born on May 1, 1936, in Topeka, KS, to Sig and Irene (Alfrey) Rasmussen. She graduated from Highland Park High School in 1954. Dorothy worked most of her life as a retail clerk and manager for Thomas M. Vance and later American Greeting Cards. She was a longtime member of East Side Baptist Church where she loved singing in the choir and teaching children in Sunday School as well as AWANA. Dorothy enjoyed gardening and crafting.

She is survived by her three nieces, Cindy Taylor, Terri Hester and Debbie Dunn; and several great nieces, great nephews and friends.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Twila Hester; and brother, Orval Rasmussen.

A celebration of life will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 8, 2019, at East Side Baptist Church, 4425 SE 29th Street, Topeka, KS 66605. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Gardens, Topeka. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to East Side Baptist Church.
