Nellie (Lawrence) Call-Tangney, 96, of Overland Park, passed away Monday, December 31, 2018.

She was born August 14, 1922, in Camargo, Oklahoma, the daughter of Edward and Gertrude (Hiner) Lawrence.

Nellie was employed at Forbes Air Base in Topeka.

Nellie married Charles Henry Call in Oklahoma. He preceded her in death in August of 1972. She married Al Tangney in Oklahoma. He preceded her in death. Survivors include a son, Charles Call, Overland Park; two granddaughters, Leisa (Doug McCarter) McConnell, Topeka, Christal (Jeff Groves) Snyder, Topeka; four great-grandchildren, Zachary McConnell, Tysun McConnell, Sydney Groves and Amanda (Warren) Fox; three great-great-grandchildren, Chloe Fox, Adelina Hush and Colt McConnell; and her son-in-law, Jack Smith.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Frances Smith; and nine siblings.

Nellie enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, crocheting, ceramics, arts and crafts, playing BINGO, reading books by Debbie McCormick and was a seamstress.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Dove Cremations and Funerals, Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd, Topeka.

A funeral ceremony will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, January 12, 2019 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Shawnee Center Cemetery, Wakarusa, KS.
