In Memory Of
Ruth Ellen Vail
1958 - 2019

Ruth Ellen Vail, 61, passed away Thursday, January 17, 2019 with her daughters by her side.

Born January 8th, 1958 she spent her life helping and taking care of others. From her two daughters, countless family who needed a place to stay or a meal to eat, and later in life even caring for her mother. She was seldom afraid of doing what was right and often (even into adulthood) her two daughters would seek her out for advice or help on solving any problem they may have. After being run over by a mini van in 2014, she recovered from the accident and enjoyed spending time with her grandson. Few things brought her more joy than being able to feel the sun on her face on a nice day. After her husband Tim Vail passed away in May of 2017 she’d taken up his practice of feeding the neighborhood birds and squirrels. A bright red cardinal had befriended her and visited often, it comforted her as they had always been Tim’s favorite birds.

She was a woman who set an example on how to be a good person, but never take any crap.

She is survived by her children Misty & Megan Vail; her siblings Steve Magee, Frank Magee, Barbara Magee, and Brenda Davis; and her favorite little boy, her grandson, Jackson Pyles.

A Celebration of Ruth’s Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, January 20, 2019 at Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service time.
