Paul Daniel Zehr, 69, of Topeka, passed away on Friday, January 18, 2019. He was born January 31, 1949 in Champaign, IL, the son of Melvin Daniel and Mary Elizabeth (Roszhart) Zehr.

Paul graduated from Rantoul Township High School in Rantoul, IL. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Art from Goshen College in Goshen, IN. Paul worked in home improvement retail sales before retiring, though he had a lifelong passion for art, and he had numerous exhibitions of his work. He attended Southern Hills Mennonite Church and served in Zaire with Mennonite Central Committee. He was a musician for the Dances of Universal Peace.

Paul was the kindest and gentlest of souls.

Paul is survived by his wife, Kathleen Ann Erickson, whom he married on June 17, 2000 in Wichita, KS. Other survivors include his children: Joel Zehr (Cristina) of Broomfield, CO and Nathan Zehr (Xiaohan) of Beijing, China; one granddaughter: Maya Zehr; his first wife and mother of his children: Cindy Kauffman; and his siblings: Tom Zehr of Springfield, IL; Philip Zehr of Lawrence, KS; and Rebecca Zehr Moyer of Monticello, IL.

Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Southern Hills Mennonite Church. Private inurnment will take place at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be given to Southern Hills Mennonite Church, 511 SE 37th St., Topeka, KS 66605.
