Erma Elizabeth (Alexander) Sweany, 88, passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2019, at Midland Hospice House, in Topeka, KS.
Erma was born on August 26, 1930, in Clay Center, KS, to Robert and Ida (Clark) Alexander. She graduated from Green Rural High School and attended Kansas State College, Manhattan, KS. Erma married Ronald Sweany, December 16, 1950, in Salina, KS. She taught grade school in Clay Center, worked at Southwestern Bell Telephone, Kansas Power & Light, Midwest Machine Works and retired from Bill Lewis Realtors in 1992.
She is survived by her son, Scott (Tomi) Sweany; daughter, Sheryl (Jim) Sweeney; 3 grandchildren, Jamie (Dave) Stormer, Erin and Dublin Sweeney; 7 great-grandchildren, Austin, R.J., Kristal, Logan, Colton, Kailey, and Callan; daughter-in-law, Bobbie Sweany; and many nieces and nephews.
Erma was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Sweany; grandson, Ryan Sweany; parents; and an infant daughter.
She will be buried at Fancy Creek Cemetery, in Green, KS.
