Patrick Francis Lynch, 86, of Overbrook, Kansas, passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2019 at Brookside Retirement Community. He was born August 24, 1932 in Axtell, Kansas, the son of Emmett Patrick and Helen Frances (Forst) Lynch.

Pat graduated from Berryton Rural High School. He worked on a construction crew during the building of the Colmery-O’Neil VA Medical Center before serving two years in the Army during the Vietnam War. He worked on the passenger tire line at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. He loved driving his race cars at Thunder Hill near Maple Hill and at Tecumseh. He was an over-the-road truck driver moving mobile homes for Morgan Drive Away and Bennett Truck Transport until 2006.

Pat married Betty Elwanger on January 6, 1984 in Topeka. She preceded him in death on February 12, 2009. He was also preceded in death by his parents and a sister; Mildred Ihle.

Pat is survived by his brother; Robert (Norma) Lynch of Tecumseh, three sisters; Marita Lutz of Topeka, Lyla Allen of Livermore, California and Mary Ann Lynch of La Quinta, California, brother-in-law; Dr. Charles (Becky) Ihle of Wisconsin and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 22, 2019 at Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Private inurnment will take place in Mount Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association, 3625 SW 29th St., Ste. 102, Topeka, Kansas 66614.
