William T. “Bill” Jordan, 86, Topeka, passed away Friday, April 5, 2019 surrounded by his family.

Bill was born March 1, 1933 in Canton, MO, the son of Charles F. and Louise (Hensley) Jordan. He graduated from Elkins High School and from Davis & Elkins College in Elkins, WV. with a degree in Civil Engineering.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He was employed by the Federal Highway Administration as a Planning and Research Engineer for over 31 years, retiring in 1989.

He was a lifetime member of the V.F.W, the American Legion and Ducks Unlimited.

Bill married Grace Davis Lee on June 16, 1958 in Elkins, WV. His wife of 61 years survives. Other survivors include daughters, Linda (David) Martin, Lenexa, Louise (Troy) Nitcher, Wichita, Susan (Thad) Winkelman, Topeka, Anne (Bryan) Cahoone, De Soto; 6 grandchildren, Erin (Eric) Harkins, Will Winkelman, Katie Nitcher, Henry Cahoone, Beth Winkelman, Eric Martin; sisters, Nancy Applebee, Charlotte Yee; and brothers, Charles Jordan and Robert Jordan. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother and sister.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 11, 2019 at the Dove Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road. Private family inurnment will be in Elkins, WV.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ducks Unlimited or Helping Hands Humane Society.
