Kent Hilliard, 75, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2019.

He was born June 26, 1943 in Wamego, Kansas, the son of Chester B. and Dorothy E. (Craig) Hilliard. He was a graduate of Wamego High School. He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam.

Kent owned and operated the Hilliard Gallery, Country Club Plaza, Kansas City, Missouri, retiring in 2003.

Survivors include his sister, Myrna Atkinson, Topeka; nephews, James Kent Preisner, Olathe, KS, Jeffrey J. Preisner, Wichita, KS and Craig F. (Meredith) Preisner, Topeka; great-nieces and nephews, James H. (Jamie) Preisner, Rachel C. Preisner and Victoria Alejos.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Barbara Jayne.

Cremation is planned. A graveside inurnment service will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 11, 2019 at the Wamego Cemetery, Wamego, Kansas. A celebration of life gathering will immediately follow the graveside at the Wamego Country Club. Dove Cremations and Funerals, Southwest Chapel is assisting the family.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hilliard Family Scholarship, sent in care of Wamego Community Foundation, PO Box 25, Wamego, KS 66547.
