Charles “Charlie” Franklin Phillips, Jr., 56, of Topeka, KS passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2019 in his home.

Charlie was born on December 10, 1962 in Liberal, Kansas, the son of Charles Phillips Sr., Sharon and Timothy Hazelton. He graduated in 1981 from Turpin High School in Turpin, Oklahoma. He worked in the oil industry over the next few years before joining the U.S. Navy 1988 until his medical discharge in 1989.

Charlie is survived by; Partner Karen Manning, son Casey (Brittney) Phillips, grandsons Kade and Kole Phillips all of Bakersfield, CA, Father, Charles Phillips, Step-Father Timothy Hazleton Sister, Shennen Phillips all of Topeka. KS. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sharon Hazelton, brother, Curtis Lynn Phillips.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, August 24, 2019 at Shawnee Heights Baptist Church, 4335 SE 29th Street, Topeka, KS 66605. A committal service will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, 4700 SW 17th Street, Topeka, KS 66604. Service arrangements are entrusted to Dove Cremation and Funerals, Southeast Chapel.
