Ruth Mae Gallaway, 96, Topeka, passed away Friday, August 23, 2019.
Ruth was born December 6, 1922 in Dickinson County, KS, the daughter of Edward and Cora Myrtle (Day) Horner. She graduated from Junction City High School.
She was employed in food service most of her life.
Ruth married Franklin Gallaway, Sr. on April 8, 1947. He died September 2, 1998. Survivors include children, Bonnie Hoffman, McPherson, Mary (Claude) Gillum, Ethel M. Wilson, LeRoy G. Gallaway, George D. Gallaway, all of Topeka, Charles (Laveta) Horner, Chapman; 19 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and several great-great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Cora Brown; son, Franklin Gallaway, Jr; sister, Eva Reese; and brothers, George Horner and Ben Horner.
Cremation has taken place and Graveside inurnment service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 30, 2019 at Mount Hope Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Midland Care, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, KS 66606.
