He started his career at Van Doren, Hazard, Stallings and Schnacke Engineering as a draftsman, he later worked at Herman's Excavation as an estimator and then retired from Bartlett and West Engineering in 1998.
Gary was married to Judith (Gaffney) Crider Fogel. They later divorced.
Dad was a big Kansas Jayhawk fan, a Chiefs fan and an avid golfer. He enjoyed watching his grandsons play sports, painting, sketching and music. He also loved dogs.
Survivors include two sons, Scott Crider (Tamara) of Topeka and Kevin Crider (Nancee) of Topeka; sister, Ellen Saguid (Alberto) of Milliani, HI; three grandsons, Mac Crider of Lawrence, KS; Nick Crider of Lawrence, KS; Bradley Crider of Topeka; Nephews Brett Saquid of Coeur d'Alene, ID; Ryan (Laralyn) of Keaau, HI and friend, Marsha Bartley of Topeka.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial services will be Monday September 9 at 10am at Dove Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd, Topeka. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
