Teresa L. Sly, 62, of Harveyville, Kansas, passed away on Friday, October 25, 2019 at a Topeka hospital. She was born February 20, 1957 in Council Grove, Kansas, the daughter of Gene and Nancy (Curry) Sly. Teresa was a 1974 graduate of Washburn Rural High School.

Teresa was employed by the Kansas Department of Human Resources for 20 years and currently was employed by BNSF Railroad for 20 years.

She was a member of the Osage County Farm Bureau, where she served as secretary. She was also active and served as Treasurer in the Burlingame Saddle Club.

Survivors include her son, Tate Sly of Harveyville; her mother, Nancy Sly of Topeka; her brother, Randy Sly of Topeka; and two nephews, Cole Sly of Wamego and Justin Sly of Topeka.

Teresa will lie in state after 3 p.m., Wednesday, October 30, 2019, at Dove Cremations and Funerals, Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd, Topeka, where the family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Cremation will follow.

A celebration of life ceremony will be at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, November 14, 2019 at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Burlingame Saddle Club, 829 S. Rodeo Drive, P.O. Box 143, Burlingame, KS 66413 or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
