Kay F. Southard, 78, of Topeka, passed away Monday, November 4, 2019.

She was born October 2, 1941, in Marysville, Kansas, the daughter of Howard and Bernice (Meineke) Marquis. She was a graduate of Hiawatha High School, Hiawatha, Kansas and Clark’s School of Business in Topeka.

Kay was employed by the Shawnee County District Court in Topeka until retiring.

She volunteered for Railroad Days in Topeka for many years.

Survivors include her daughter, Deb Henderson, Topeka; her son, Greg Southard, Topeka; and two grandchildren, Alexandria Henderson and Joshua Henderson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Mike and Roger Marquis.

Kay enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, reading, sewing, K.C. Royals baseball and was sci-fi fan.

Honoring her request, cremation is planned. Honoring her request, cremation is planned. A memorial ceremony will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 15, 2019 at First Congregational Church, 1701 SW Collins Ave, Topeka, KS 66604.
