Stephen Robert Flye, 69, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2019.

Stephen was born May 20, 1950, in Topeka, the son of Arthur and Wilma (Webb) Flye.

He graduated from Highland Park High School in 1968 and received a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from Washburn University in 1987.
He served in the U. S. Air Force from 1968 to 1983 attaining the rank of Tech. Sergeant.

Stephen married Linda Rolin on June 20, 1970 in Topeka at the Oakland Church of the Nazarene.

He was employed by the V.A. Hospital for 9 years, several local nursing homes and also the Shawnee County Department of Corrections.

He was a member of a bowling league at Gage Bowl.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Flye of the home; daughters, Sarah Reed, Debbie Singleterry and Jennifer Flye, all of Topeka; 6 grandchildren; and sisters, Marcia Cain and Cheryl (Kurt) Dubach. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Jackie Freeman.

Honoring Stephen’s request, cremation is planned. A memorial ceremony will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at the Fairlawn Church of the Nazarene.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Helping Hands Humane Society.
