Ashley Marie (Zilka) Grissett, 39, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, December 8, 2019.

She was born October 2, 1980, in Manhattan, Kansas, the daughter Helen Marie Zilka. She was a 1999 graduate of Rock Creek High School, St. George, Kansas, attended Kansas State University and obtained the Registered Nurse Degree at Hopkinsville Community College, Clarksville, TN.

Ashley was employed as an RN at Behavioral Heathcare Center, and later at Cumberland Hall Hospital in Clarksville, Tennessee.

She was a member of New Life Support Group with Lung Transplantation on Facebook.

Ashley married Reginald Grissett in Manhattan, KS. They later divorced. Survivors include her fiancé, Ed Neloms, Jr. of Topeka; her daughter, Haley Marie Grissett and her significant other, Jeremiah Johnson of Topeka; her mother, Helen M. Zilka of Topeka; her brother, Lance (Kasey) Craig of Lee’s Summit, MO; her nephew, Aiden and her niece, Addison; her adopted sister, Jessica McClelland, Clarksville, TN; her aunt, Rose Walker of Onaga, KS; and her canine companions, Hercules and Gizmo.

Ashley enjoyed spending time with family and friends, date nights with Ed, eating Mexican food, playing Skip-Bo card game with friends, playing the flute in the Rock Creek Marching Band, and was an avid Tennessee Titans fan.

A funeral ceremony will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 13, 2019 at the Dove Cremations and Funerals, Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd, Topeka. Cremation will follow the service. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
