I met J and her mom when they worked at a tannin salon here in Topeka. I will always remember her kindness when I came in the door and she always knew my name. I remember the last time I saw her and this was many years ago was when the Friends finale was on. Not so0n after I saw her at Best Buy and she was always nice and remembered my name. Rest in peace J and my sympathy to Denise and her family.

J and I met through the Dental Hygiene program at JCCC. She was the bright light amongst our classmates. She made us laugh daily and her positive energy was contagious. J was the friend you knew you could always count on; she would give you the shirt off her back. She had the biggest heart and I am proud to have known her and be friends with her. It is an understatement to say she will be missed tremendously. Love you, J!

I’m just sitting here thinking and praying.. and I was thinking about how awesome you are and how lucky I am to have met you.. and I hope that you can feel free and happy.. not one issue we think of in life is worth worrying or stressing about and when we go, those issues go too and it is a waste to fight or be angry or upset about things that one day will mean nothing. They will disappear with the the person we blame for them. Every moment we live should be spent on love. Because that is the only thing that matters in the end. It will be the only thing left. And the only thing I can think of that I regret, is not choosing to love more and using every breath to tell you and not living to love or loving to live. It is the only thing that is real..you reminded me of that.
We love and miss you Jeanine. And I understand why you chose to go..

I remember going to her place in Topeka and seeing her animals. Old and present. You could tell how much she loved her pets some feisty ones too! Chatting before and after going to the gym. Seeing her get into dental hygiene and catching up on her goals after. I feel so lucky to have meet the most excepting and loving J. Thinking of everyone who she has touched, friends and family. Miss you J.

I am just devastated finding out this horrible news. I met J at Dr Loecker’s office. She was so funny, we were laughing until I cried. I would have never known she was so sad and depressed. She left us much to soon. J, I hope you’re at peace and see how loved you were. I wish peace for your family as well.
With deepest sympathy,
Kim & Marschel Hocker

I met J when she was at Robinson Middle School where I worked as a school social worker. J was not taking mess from anyone. We spent many hours together as she refused to go to certain classes or she would sit outside after PE and wouldn't come back to the main building and I would have to go get her. Those beautiful eyes and smile when she would see me and J would shake her head and. J would say " I AM NOT GOING". I would say yes you are in my office you know they are going to call your mom.J was one of my favorites with her determination and fire at times and her loyalty to those she loved and care for. She would fight a bear if she had to. I know you are in heaven charming everyone with that smile and those eyes and making them smile give my mom and grandma a hug from me ..
~ Sheila MCDONALD - January 1, 2020
We lost a great person this year, she was so full of happiness most days because we all have bad days. I will always love you forever and ever. I'm sorry we didn't talk more. Rest in peace ps can you say hello too my unborn son, and my best friend.
~ Becca Lester - December 31, 2019
I met J while in the dental hygiene program at JCCC and instantly was drawn to her energy, her easy smile and the the laughter she brought to every situation. It wasn’t unusual for us to break out with impromptu dance moves during down times which helped alleviate the stress of going through the difficult program. We kept in touch after graduation through Facebook. I admired her spirit, she will be greatly missed. I can’t imagine the pain you must feel at her passing and my deepest sympathies go out to her whole family, whom she talked about often with great pride and love. I hope it comforts you to know that she will always be remembered.
~ Kristine King - December 31, 2019
We started off as co-workers and ended up as friends. Alot of laughing together and some shared tears. In your (too)short life, you experienced alot of ups and downs. You always seemed to laugh(that unmistakable giggle) your way thru any situation. You took your self to places nobody ever expected you to. I just want to say I am very proud of you for every thing you accomplished. I pray the next life you live gives you more joy then this one did. Rest easy my friend. Love you.
~ Karen McGee - December 31, 2019

I am so sorry for your loss. Everytime I saw her she was smiling and joking around. She will be missed by many.
~ Shawn Clark - December 31, 2019
My heart is broken upon getting the news that we lost J. She was one of my favorite people and dental hygienists. J lit up a room with her smile and big personality. Everyone that knew her loved her. I had the pleasure of coaching and leading J. I learned more about life, love and friendship than she learned about dentistry from me. We will all miss you J. I hope you Rest In Peace. I know you’re making the angels laugh just as you made us all laugh. You will be greatly missed.

I don't know where to begin. J is my adopted sister. None of this seems real. So many many years of laughter and tears we shared. Those big blue eyes and that million $ smile. Her laughter alone would cause you to begin laughing! We use to sit up all night and play what we called- Ma & Pa Kettle. That consisted of us taking turns playing songs that we both loved....but not without first saying, " ohhh ma/pa....you ain't gonna beleive the knee slapper I got for ya next! Oh J....I love you infinity and I will never forget what a great person, sister, and friend you were. The ONLY person I have EVER known that could keep a secret safe! Please watch over the rest of our family from here on out. I would quite frankly be okay with you haunting me on occasion.....you did tell me you would one day. I love you forever. The rest of us kids will keep mom on the straight and narrow for you.
Love you always...

I knew Jeanine from her age of 8 she was a happy kid. She loved to sit and watch me dance to Janet Jackson music video's. She never forgot it and every time I would see her (which wasn't often enough) in our adult lives, she would remind me of the good old days by signing out CONTROOOOOL and we would both break out in laughter. I remember how much she loved animals. She had a pet raccoon named Ricky, that only she could hold and play with. That Raccoon didn't like any one but her. She loved all of her family, she had a big heart and a wonderful smile. She always told me how beautiful I am, but she was the real beauty! Gone too soon! She will be missed!
~ Lynn Robinson - December 31, 2019
My heart is heavy with the silence left in the wake of her absence. I pray that her energy and love will live forever in those who cherish her spirit.
I will never forget your beautiful face
and thank God I got to call you my friend. Rest easy now , your friends and family will take it from here.
~ Trischa Prock - December 31, 2019
She was always there for my son regardless of what it was right or wrong.. Will always remember and love you more than you ever imagined... Bye big sis
~ Larry Brown - December 31, 2019
Although I only knew J a few short months she inspired me to be a better person every day, always had a smile and kept us laughing through any situation. She is truly a soul that will not be forgotten and will be carried with me daily for the rest of my life! I hope that someday I can live up to all the hopes and dreams she saw for me! Until we meet again rest in peace my dear friend! Love always, Nat
