Walter E. Seastrom, 90, Topeka, passed away Monday, February 24, 2020 at a local care center.

Walt was born June 5, 1929 in Burlingame, the son of Elmer and Kathryn (Morris) Seastrom. He attended Burlingame schools.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He was a concrete finisher for Conroy Construction Company for 37 years. He later worked in maintenance for a local care center.

Walt married Joan Marie Walter on May 15, 1955 in Eskridge. His wife of 64 years survives. Other survivors include their children, James Seastrom, Topeka, Jeff (Vickie) Seastrom, Emporia, Kim (Ed) Gillaspie, Council Grove; 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Neva Morris, Holton, Marge Prescott, Carbondale and Naomi Tucker, Topeka. He was preceded in death by 10 siblings; and 3 grandsons.

Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 28, 2020 at the Auburn Community Center.

Dove Southwest chapel is assisting with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
