Beverly Jean (Robbins) Northrop, 93, of Topeka, passed away Monday, February 24, 2020.

She was born December 3, 1926, in Anthony, Kansas, the daughter of Lauren and Lucille (Dent) Robbins.

She was a 1944 graduate from Phillipsburg High School in Phillipsburg, Kansas.

Beverly married Sgt. Joseph M. Sinclair in Gainesville, Texas on July 6, 1944. They later divorced and she married James M. Durham on October 3, 1948 in Phillipsburg. He preceded her in death in October of 1993.

Beverly and James were socially active in numerous religious affiliations and social activities while residing in Kansas prior to relocating to Sun City, Arizona in 1977. There they enjoyed garden clubs and many other religious activities.

Beverly later went on to marry Richard Northrop on November 25, 1995 in Glendale, Arizona and was a long time resident of Sun City West, Arizona. Beverly and Richard enjoyed traveling, participating in church activities and the Rose and Garden Club.

Beverly worked as a Private Secretary for Menninger Foundation and later worked as a Day School Director for Clark’s Business College prior to retiring.

She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Topeka and Brewster Place Chapel.

Survivors include her daughter, Linda (Gene) Clark of Topeka, Kansas; her son, Larry (Lisa) Sinclair of Phoenix, Arizona; step-daughters, Diane (Richard) Irwin of Massachusetts and Sandy (Steve) Katz of Arizona; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and host of other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard Northrop (2010) and her sister, Mary Francis Wingo.

Beverly enjoyed playing bingo, bridge, various other card games and spending time with her friends at Brewster.

Honoring Beverly’s request, cremation is planned. A memorial ceremony will be held at 10:00 a.m., March 2, 2020 at the Brewster Place Memorial Chapel, 1205 SW 29th, Topeka, Kansas 66611. Interment of the cremated remains will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, 3616 SW Sixth Ave, Topeka, Kansas.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Dove Cremations and Funerals, Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd, Topeka.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to First Congregational Church, 1701 SW Collins, Topeka, Kansas 66604 and Brewster Place Memorial Chapel, 1205 SW 29th, Topeka, Kansas 66611.
