1948 - 2020

Robert Edward "Bobby" Blass, 71, of Topeka, formerly of Kansas City, Kansas, passed away Sunday, July 26, 2020.

He was born September 12, 1948, in Manhattan, Kansas, the son of James Edward and Ella Marie (Goss) Blass. He was a 1967 graduate of Argentine High School, Kansas City, Kansas. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War as a cook in Germany.

Robert was employed by Shawnee Mission School District for 43 years before retiring.

Survivors include his brother, James O. (Carol Sue) Blass of Topeka; niece Audrey Michelle (Gerald) Miller; great-nieces Alexis Suzanne (Austin) Bush and Mickalla Michelle McVay; and great-grandnephew Tristan Lee Bush.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Patricia Louise Blass and an infant sister, Rose Marie Blass.

Robert enjoyed reading historical books; jigsaw puzzles; K-State, Royals and Chiefs sports; and collecting coins, cards and other things.

Honoring his request, cremation is planned. Interment will be at Maple Hill Cemetery in Kansas City, Kansas at a later date. Dove Cremations and Funerals, Southwest Chapel in Topeka is assisting the family.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Neurofibromatosis (NF) Network, 213 S. Wheaton Ave. Wheaton, IL 60187.
