Sally Jo Moore, 65, of Topeka, passed away Monday, September 14, 2020.

She was born December 6, 1954, in Checotah, Oklahoma, the daughter of Clarence and Mildred Marie (Guest) Scroggins. She was a 1972 graduate of Checotah High School.

Sally was employed Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka.

She was involved in the Kansas Free South Africa Movement.

Sally enjoyed music, dancing, and was a loving mother. She had a smile that would light up the room and she could always make you laugh. Family was the most important thing to Sally and she was always good about including and staying in touch with everyone.

Survivors include her son, James Moore of Topeka; grandson, Curtis Sederwall; sisters, Lenora Scroggins and Elli Scroggins of Topeka, Sophie Scroggins, Eileen Jones, Michelle Midgyett and Cassie Midgyett, all of Kansas City, MO; brothers, Clarence “Sunny” and wife, Susan Scroggins, Logan Scroggins, and Roger Scroggins of Topeka, Dwight Scroggins, Steve Midgyett and William “Monty” Maxwell, all of Kansas City, MO, and Tyron Ashby of Los Angeles.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Michael Scroggins and Kevin Scroggins; and sisters, Yvonne Monroe and Keisha Ransberry.

Honoring her request, cremation is planned. A Balloon Release was held Saturday, October 17, 2020. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Topeka Alzheimer’s Association 3625 SW 29th St. #102, Topeka, KS 66614, or Kansas NAMI 1801 SW Wanamaker Rd., Suite G6, Box 14, Topeka, KS 66604.
