Phillip “Dan” Dyer, 86, of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2020.
He was born October 29, 1933, in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Grace (Huggins) Dyer. He was a graduate of Topeka High School. He served in the United States Navy.
He was employed by Santa Fe Railroad in Topeka until retiring.
Dan was a member of American Legion, Post No. 400 of Topeka.
Dan married Jo Ellen Horn on March 11, 1956. She survives in Topeka. Other survivors include two daughters, Dana Dyer and Kelly (John) Alexander; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother and a sister.
Dan enjoyed spending time with his family and was an avid golfer.
Honoring his request, cremation is planned. No services are planned. Private entombment will be at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery, Manhattan, Kansas. Dove Cremations and Funerals, Southwest Chapel is assisting the family.
