Wayne J. Tindell, 81, Topeka, passed away Monday, November 9th, 2020.
Wayne was born August 5th, 1939 in Scranton, the son of Eugene and Edith (Ferris) Tindell. He graduated from Scranton High School.
He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1959 to 1963. He was honorably discharged. He was incredibly proud of the time that he had served.
Wayne married Betty “Ann” Wright on (April 18th, 1988). She died (September 7th, 1993). Survivors include his sisters Donna Wilcox, Laurel Derby, Francis Oates, Linda Williams, Edith Allison, and Lucy Tindell. Wayne had numerous nephews and nieces. He was close to many of them, but most closely so to his niece Hayley, in which he was like a grandfather.
He was also preceded in death by his parents Eugene and Edith, and his brothers Robert Tindell, Johnny Tindell, and Eddie Tindell.
Wayne Tindell enjoyed many things including collecting treasures, and tinkering. He could find a use for anything. He loved driving his scooter and having a good cup of coffee while putting together a puzzle.
Cremation has taken place and private service will be held on November 18th, 2020 at the First Free Methodist Church. He will be buried at the Scranton Cemetery during a public grave ceremony at 1pm November 18th, 2020.
