Lois Ann Gerhardt, 65, of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2020.

She was born May 30, 1955, in Amesbury, Massachusetts, the daughter of Michael M. and Nancy J. (Whelan) Sarkesian. She was a 1973 graduate of Topeka High School.

Lois was employed by Southwest State Bank, Haag Oil Company and later for Cartridge King of Kansas all of Topeka.

Lois married Rick Gerhardt on July 26, 1980 in the Immanuel Lutheran Church at Netawaka, Kansas. He survives in Topeka. Other survivors include her daughter, Betsy (Brandon) Gerhardt Hossain of Topeka; five grandchildren, Hannah and Ivy Gerhardt, Hardy, Remy and Aiden Hossain; her sister, Susan Sarkesian; two brothers, Haag Sarkesian and Michael Sarkesian; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her son, Jeremy A. Gerhardt on March 25, 2017 and her parents.
Lois loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed vacationing and Christmas time. She also enjoyed antiquing, boating, lounging by the pool, beaches and anything Elvis Presley.

Honoring her request, cremation is planned. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Dove Cremations and Funerals, Southeast Chapel in Topeka is assisting the family.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
