Really sad to see this. Stephanie and I went to Russell and Doherty together. In the classes we had together, she was always the smartest one. She had a great smile and great laugh.

Stephanie had a beautiful smile and was full of laughter. We were friends since junior high. Although there was distance and years since we’ve had a close conversation it would feel as if no time had passed between our last visit. She will always be my friend.
I pray her kids always remember how blessed they were to have her as a mom. May her spirit live on through them.
My heart aches for all Stephanie’s family. She is irreplaceable. Many prayers for comfort and healing.

Jeremy, KayLynn, and Jason,
I was heartbroken when I learned about Stephanie. I know from working with you, Jeremy, that she was a wonderful mom. And, KayLynn and Jason, I know she fought as hard as she could, so she could have more time with you. We can never understand why some things in life happen, and this is one of those things. Hold your memories close to your heart. As time passes, those memories will turn your tears to smiles, and there will be many more happy times than sad.
With love,
Gaylene

Every year Stephanie and I would work together at the school book fair during the Thanksgiving lunch celebration. I would look for her name to be sure that our shifts overlapped because it was the one time each year I know we would get to see each other for an extended period. We would share all the stories about all kinds of books we loved, as children and adults. I remember no matter how hectic things were in the library during those times Stephanie would always go above and beyond to get a kid the special book they were looking for or make a recommendation on a book she just knew they would love. She was always so encouraging and inspiring to everyone around her. She gave so much to the people she crossed paths with and touched many hearts along the way. I want to send prayers for peace and comfort to the family. I know her beautiful spirit will be carried on in many special ways.

I met Stephanie on a Chamber bus trip to Tulsa. I was fascinated by her smile, humor and approachability. And her laugh. OMG. She was a riot. In the years since that infamous bus ride, our in-person paths crossed infrequently, but I delighted in her Facebook posts and her passion for the library and her children. Rest well, sweet girl. I’m only sorry we didn’t know each other better.

Sephanie brightened our Jazzercise classes with that wonderful smile as I am sure she did for all of her family.
My condolences.

I have know Stephanie and Jeremy since I was in Law School with Jeremy. I always found Stephanie to be a loving wife , hard working and accepting individual. I was shocked when I learned she had cancer and it had spread throughout her body. Her untimely demise is a true tragedy to her family, and to all who knew her. My prayers go out to her children ,parents, and to all who will miss her. Respectfully, Dr. Herbert Shriver

Its been over 25 years since Stephanie and I played basketball together in junior high, but I will never forget that determined girl with curly hair. She was taller than me (most of our team was) and could rebound a missed shot like nobody's business. We fell out of touch, but our parents remain close friends. To the entire Gerber/Hall family--I am so, so sorry Stephanie has left this world. I hope you can find peace during this difficult time.

Stephanie was a love. She helped me in so many ways large and small. I so enjoyed the time we all lived together as a large family. She was a joy and will be missed... especially her innate ability to know the next big hit in books about to become raging hits like Hunger Games or Game of Thrones.

I am at a loss she was a great lady in my exercise classes when the children were just babies. She would bounce my own boys around the tonning class and was a joy. It is a great loss.

When I began working at the Topeka Library, Stephanie was absolutely welcoming and kind in showing me how to create well-rounded and inspiring programs for our community. Though I often saw her in passing, during the few times we did meet together, it was obvious how much of a passion she had for our Library and the visitors within its halls. Her office was a fun space of all sorts of toys and games, and I loved that she never managed to lose her creative spirit through her many years of working here. I can only assume that sincerity and passion transferred over to all other aspects of her life, and it is clear to me how much of an impact she had on those dearest to her. My sincerest condolences and well wishes for her family during these days ahead. May we all, like Stephanie, continue to embrace her ideals of love, change, and kindness.

I am deeply saddened by Stephanie's passing. I always thought of Stephanie as a person with a vibrant personality and a great sense of humor. The first time I met Stephanie, she had a group of us laughing in no time. I am grateful I had the opportunity to work with her, and I appreciated what she brought to our community through her work and dedication at the library. My heart goes out to all her loved ones.

Jeremy and family, I am so sorry for your loss. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
~ Roger Jackson - January 6, 2021
I don't even know where to start. So many people loved Stephanie - she had an impact on so many lives over the years. Stephanie was such an amazing friend to me and our little group that was formed at Jazzercise. We have so many amazing memories together. DART races, girls' nights out, girls' nights in our jammies eating too much cheese and some amazing peanut butter and chocolate dessert, Pitch Perfect marathons, so many Jazzercise workouts together, laughter and sometimes tears. She was always a shoulder cry on when any of us needed and her smile and infectious laughter will always be with me. I am so sorry for Jason and KayLynn and all of her family. She was too young and vibrant and taken too soon. I know that she will watch over all of us. We will be praying for all of you and are here for anything you need.
All My Love, Noelle

It is with great sadness and shock over Stephanie's passing that I express these words. I worked many years at the Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library with her. My husband and I attended the same Church with Stephanie and Jeremy. Stephanie and I attended Jazzercise and Toning classes together. I loved her beautiful smile and her big laugh! She was a very intelligent, creative and loving person. Stephanie had a big heart and most conversations we had included her children, KayLynn and Jason. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of the family for your great loss. Stephanie will be missed by so many.

I am former Jazzerciser. I, of course, met her there. She was one of my encouragements. She was always up front and I looked up to her to see what she was doing. She was such an energetic, bright smiled, happy person. I am so sorry for your loss. My prayers are with you.
~ Pam VanDyke - January 6, 2021
She was always a friendly smile at Jazzercise! I enjoyed listening to the instructors fun banter with her & she was always someone they could rely on to help. She was an amazing Jazzerciser; I always used her as a benchmark to reach for. Can’t imagine her regular classes without her. She will be missed.

I had the pleasure of working with Stephanie the year Jason was in my classroom in 1st grade. Stephanie always brought in a smile and a laugh as well as wonderful ideas and creative solutions to situations. I continued to be friends with Stephanie and keep up with her and the family over the years. She was a great supporter of teachers in the classroom. She loved her time coming to sign students up for the summer reading program as well! Her love for both Jason and KayLynn was evident in all our conversations. Her memory brings a smile to my face. Prayers for all who love Stephanie!

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Gerber, Heather and family,
Words cannot express the sadness I feel at the news of Stephanie's passing. I am heartbroken and so sorry for your tremendous loss. Stephanie has always held a special place in my heart. I have vivid memories of the kindness you all showed us throughout our years at Mizzou. Stephanie's bright smile, her enthusiasm, her cheers, her genuine kindness and positivity brought a beaming ray of sunshine through the gym, just when I needed it most. Her laugh was contagious and she was so generous with her spirit. I know it has been a long time since we've seen one another, but I remember it all like it was yesterday. You all made me feel like part of the family and I can never thank you enough for that kindness. I will always remember Stephanie with the utmost admiration and fondness, as I do each of you.
Sending you all love, hugs, strength and peace.
