Barbara A. Hodge, 90, of Topeka, passed away on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Aldersgate Village in Topeka. She was born February 16, 1931 in Trumansburg, New York, the daughter of Bartelow and Marie (Townsend) Vergona.

Barbara graduated from Ithaca College in Ithaca, New York. She had resided in Topeka since 1988. She was employed as an Administrative Assistant for the Kansas Highway Patrol Headquarter accident record desk for 22 years before retiring. Barbara was a member of the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. She was an accomplished Tap-Dancer and enjoyed riding motorcycles.
Surviving is her daughter-in-law, Helen H. Van Etten of Topeka.

Barbara was preceded in death by her son, Roger Van Etten and her sister, June.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 2, 2021 at Dove Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd. where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow in Mission Center Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Good Samaritan Fund at Aldersgate Village, 7220 SW Asbury Dr., Topeka, Kansas 66614 or to Heartland Hospice Care, 5601 SW Barrington Ct., Suite 201, Topeka, Kansas 66614.
