Virginia Lee Smith, 73, of Topeka, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, June 5, 2021. She was born October 5, 1947 in Topeka, the daughter of Eddie and Evalene G. (Burton) McClain.

Virginia was employed by Washburn University and Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Kansas.

Virginia married Charles Oliver on July 20, 1968. He preceded her in death on July 6, 2000. She later married George Smith on February 14, 2004. They later divorced.

Survivors include children, Keith McClain of Las Vegas, Nevada, Michelle L. Myers of Topeka, Daryl McClain of Houston, Texas, Loyce Oliver-McKnight of Topeka, six grandchildren, Kazzmin, Deja, DesiRae, Jada, Daryl II, Shanell and four great-grandchildren, Kaizen, Dyani, Kaveya and Darius, Jr.

Virginia was preceded in death by four siblings, Mary McClain, Evalene Jelks, Eddie McClain, Jr. and Richard James McClain.

Virginia will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 12, 2021 at Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. Cremation will follow and private inurnment will take place at a later date.
