Jo Ann Hepworth, 73, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, July 7, 2021.

She was born August 27, 1947, in Buckeye, Arizona, the daughter of Carl Higgins and Analou (Baker) Higgins.

She attended Washburn Rural High School.

Jo Ann was a homemaker and a caregiver to her grandchildren. She also re-opened the Sage Inn Bed and Breakfast in Dover, Kansas.

Jo Ann married Victor Hepworth on January 6, 1969 in Topeka, Kansas.

Survivors include her loving husband, Victor Hepworth of Topeka; her children, Todd (Jannelle) Hepworth of Topeka and Angie (Troy) Scholz of Lancaster; her three grandchildren, Karl, Shelby and Carter; her siblings, Dee, Linda, Jan, David, Mike, Donna, Sandy, Pat, Naomi, Wynema and Patsy.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, James, Glenn, Carlene, Tanya and Earl.

Jo Ann enjoyed antiquing, gardening and spending time with her family.

Honoring Jo Ann’s request, cremation is planned. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at the Dove Cremations and Funerals – Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd., Topeka, KS 66610.

A private inurnment will be held at a later date in Dover, Kansas.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society - Topeka 1315 SW Arrowhead Road, Topeka, KS, 66604 or to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 6931 Arlington Rd, Bethesda, MD, 20814.

The family would like to extend a “Big Thank You” to the doctors and nurses of Stormont Vail Health in Topeka.
