Jacob Tyler "JT" Chinn
1994 - 2021

Jacob Tyler “JT” Chinn, 26, of Shawnee, passed away Tuesday, July 13, 2021. He was born August 20, 1994, in Topeka, KS, the son of Bill Chinn Jr and Heidi Waggener.

He received a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Washburn University.

Survivors include his father Bill Chinn Jr and stepmother Deidre Chinn, grandmothers Char Davenport and Glenda Ellis, his mother Heidi Waggener and stepfather Dylan Miers, his grandfather Sterling Waggener and grandmother Pam Lutz. He is also survived by his brother AJ (with his wife Samantha), his sisters Bailey, Avery, Sidney, and his cat son Benji.

JT enjoyed video games and had an entrepreneurial spirit of selling trading cards. He had a loving heart toward animals, especially cats, who returned that love.

He was a part of a coveted friendship group with his brother called the Wolf Pack of which he became a foundational member of this tight knit unit.

Everyone looked forward to seeing JT at gatherings. He was enjoyable to be around, and his laugh and smile were infectious.

A celebration of his life will be held at Dove Cremations and Funerals Southwest Chapel in Topeka on Tuesday, July 20th at 3 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in JT’s name to the Johnson County Suicide Prevention Coalition or the Humane Society of Greater Kansas City.
