Paula Quinley of Topeka, KS passed away on July 13, 2021. She was born on November 14, 1932 to Paul Allen McVay and Opal (Coder) McVay in St. Joseph, MO.

She was a graduate of KU and K-State (Masters in 1973). Paula married Robert Lee Quinley (deceased) on May 2, 1961.

Paula enjoyed travel from a young age with her father. She travelled extensively, often with the Jayhawk Alumni Travel Group. Paula enjoyed working on her genealogy, tracing her family back for generations.

Paula dedicated her career to laboratory medical science, working as a technologist in five of Topeka’s hospitals and clinics. She taught at the Lattimore-Fink School of Medical Technology and was director of the Topeka School of Medical Technology.

Paula was active in her state’s professional organization, the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science-KS. She served as President from 1975-76, on the Board, as the newsletter editor, and as the bylaws chairperson. She taught science classes at Washburn University, worked as a Census Taker, as an ombudsman for nursing home patients and then with children at CASA.

She is survived by nephews Charles Quinley, Las Vegas, NV, and David Quinley, Kaysville, UT, niece Steffanie Quinley Barlowe, Melbourne, FL, cousins Jennifer Sangster, Chesterfield, MO, Michael Jennings, Fillmore, MO, Jody Schneider, Cosby, MO, Michael Loe, Willard, MO and Steven Loe, White Post, VA.

Per her wishes, no service will be held.
