He was born October 29, 1942, in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Richard Kenneth Sr. and Helen (Tibbets) Reed.
Richard was employed by the Capitol Iron Works as the superintendent for over 40 years.
Richard loved baseball - he was a member of several baseball and softball teams, playing until the age of 71.
Richard married Raelene Marie Daniels on April 17, 1962 in Topeka. She survives, along with his sons Donny Reed and Ronny Reed of Topeka; and his brothers Donny, Bob and Randy “Skeets” Reed. He was preceded in death by his brothers Raymond and Ronny Reed.
A memorial visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, October 6th at Dove Cremations and Funerals Southwest Chapel at 3700 SW Wanamaker Road in Topeka.
