Nellie Mae Motto, 72, Topeka, passed away Monday, October 4, 2021.

Nellie was born September 29, 1949 in Montgomery County, MS, the daughter of Harrell and Nellie Mae (Waugh) Waits. She graduated from Osborne, Kansas High School in 1967 and from Stormont Vail School of Nursing in 1970.

She was employed as a Registered Nurse with St. Francis Hospital for 44 years, retiring in 2013.

Survivors include daughter, Samantha (Terrance) Ruble, Topeka; granddaughters, Gina (Jordan) Mick, Holton, Willow (”DJ”) Ruble, Lillie Ruble, all of Topeka, and 2 great-grandchildren, Olyver and JoAnn Mick, Holton. Brothers William (Marie) Waits and Robert (Edna) Waits.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, Nellie Mae and Harrell Waits, and brother Harrell “Butch” Waits.

Cremation has taken place and no services are scheduled at this time.

Dove Southwest Chapel is assisting with arrangements.
