Michael F. Runau, 70, passed away in Topeka, Kansas, on January 1st, 2022. Michael was born on October 6th, 1951 to Kenneth & Jo (McCaffery) Runau in Evansville, Indiana. Before moving to Kansas to take a job with the State Government in 2005, Michael had lived in Indiana his whole life. He graduated from Bosse High School in Evansville in 1969, and then went on to receive his Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Wabash College. Later on, he would achieve his Master’s degree in Hospital Administration from The University of Evansville. In 1993, he married his wife, Annette. Michael retired from the State of Indiana after 20 years, as an Administrator. He will be remembered for his enjoyment of fishing, gardening, reading, and playing pool.

Survived by Michael is his wife Annette (Bennett) Runau, his two sons; Matthew F. Runau, and Zachary B. Runau, both of Topeka. Also surviving Michael is his brother, Brian Runau, of Indianapolis IN, and one Godson, Louie Hollingsworth of Evansville IN.

Services will take place at Dove Funeral & Cremations, SW Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road, Topeka, KS. A public gathering will take place on Sunday, January 16th, at 11AM, where condolences and memories may be shared to the family. A Memorial Service will start afterwards at 12:00 P.M.
