Vivian "Kay" Inman, 74, of Topeka, passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at a Topeka hospital. She was born August 2, 1947 in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina, the daughter of Kyle Abbott and Violet Marie (Morrison) Phalp.

Kay graduated from Wyandotte High School in Kansas City, Kansas and attended Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas. She then attended Draughns College of Commerce in Kansas City, Missouri where she received a Certificate in Executive Secretarial and Modeling.

Kay was employed by various companies through her family’s various reassignments. She enjoyed one particular role as radio personality “Polly Ester” on KGGF in Coffeyville, Kansas. She retired after twelve years serving as the Executive Secretary and Office Manager for the Kansas East Conference of the United Methodist Church. Kay was a member of the Highland Park United Methodist Church, the Alpha Theta Chi and was active in the United Methodist Women serving as President of three different districts. She was an Officer for the Kansas East Conference United Church.

Kay married Theodore "Tedd" Inman on June 17, 1967 at Calvary Swedish Baptist Church in Kansas City, Kansas. He survives. Other survivors include children, Adam (Brenda) Inman of Manhattan, Kansas, Andrew (Corinne) Inman of Topeka, five grandchildren, Avery, Brady, Colby, Julius and Anastasia.

Kay was preceded in death by her brother, DeWayne Phalp in 2004.

A Celebration of Kay's Life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 30, 2022 at the Highland Park United Methodist Church where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Inurnment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Highland Park UMW Mission Fund, 2914 S.E. Michigan Ave., Topeka, Kansas 66605.
