In Memory Of
Carolyn Rose Weinhold
1940 - 2022

l, Carolyn Rose Weinhold, kicked the bucket on May 19, 2022, in Topeka, Kansas after a long and mostly purposeful life. I was born in Beaver Falls, PA on August 29, 1940, the second of six children, to William Charles Rose and Nellie Marie Schaefer Rose. I graduated from Beaver Falls High School, PA, Slippery Rock University, PA, and the University of Kansas.

I married Frank R. Weinhold in June 1965 and together we raised two wonderful sons, Frank E. Weinhold, DeSoto, KS and Jason R. Weinhold (deceased). I had a varied and satisfying career as a Health & PE Teacher, Childcare Surveyor at the Saline County Health Department, Head Start Leader at the Salina Heartland Programs, Head Start-State Collaboration Director, Disability Advocate with the Disability Rights Center and Outreach Director with the Kansas Health Consumer Coalition. A highlight of my career was serving in the Kansas Legislature for one term.

My favorite hobbies were advocacy, tennis and pickleball. I was active with the United States Tennis
Association (USTA), Topeka Tennis Association (TTA). I was a member of the 1995 USTA 3.0 Senior Champion Team and several Missouri Valley Championships. I advocated for tennis and pickleball teaching anyone interested in these sports. I was active with the Shawnee County Democrats. I campaigned for many local, state, and federal office seekers. Some of them won their races.

I am survived by my wonderful husband, Frank R. Weinhold, awesome son, Frank E. Weinhold, loving daughter-in-law, Dr. Pam Weinhold and two fabulous grandsons, Sam and Ben, and both boys are married to lovely ladies, Amelia and Lydia. I am also survived by my incredible siblings Ted Rose, Bill Rose, Nancy O'Keefe, Mary Bittner, and Lou Pryor and their spouses as well as many nieces and nephews. I thank God for giving me such a wonderful husband, family, and very incredible friends.

In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to The Marfan Foundation, 22 Manhasset Avenue, Port Washington, NY 11050, or the charity of your choice.

There will be no funeral or religious service.
