In Memory Of
Patricia Ann "Pat" Jennings
1931 - 2022
Her family moved to Topeka when she was 11 years of age. In Topeka, she attended Polk Elementary, Crane Junior High, and graduated from Topeka High School in 1950.
Pat and Bob Jennings were married in Topeka on August 20, 1952. It was the first wedding conducted in the new Gage Park Baptist Church. Pat and Bob were blessed with a happy marriage and had innumerable pleasant memories raising their two daughters, time with good friends and international travel. Travel was always a high priority for Pat and Bob. From the first year of their marriage and every summer after, they traveled to destinations in the USA and overseas. After retirement they continued their extensive global travels.
Pat retired from the Topeka Public Schools in 1991 after 27 years of service working with students, first with Kindergarten students and later with those who had special needs, and students learning English as a second language.
She is survived by her husband Bob of 70 years; two daughters, Andrea May (Brad) of Missoula, MT and Valerie Jennings (Larry) of Shawnee, KS; four grandchildren, Jared Hothan, Darwin May, Emily Demo (Andrew), Ashleigh Charara (Nadim); three great-grandchildren, Grayson and Isla Hothan and Henry Demo; and two who will be born in the early fall of 2022.
Cremation is planned. There will be an informal gathering of family and friends to celebrate her life on Wednesday, June 29th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Dove Cremations and Funerals Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road in Topeka. For everyone's safety, masks are encouraged.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, sister Sharon, and son-in-law Larry Meyer. A message to the family may be sent to the funeral home.
