Kenn graduated from Highland Park High School and earned a Diploma in Nursing from Hutchinson Hospital School of Nursing. He was an RN at Memorial Hospital, Stormont-Vail Hospital, St. Francis Hospital and most recently for Heartland Hospice Care.
Kenn was a member of the Highland Park United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Men, Boy Scouts of America, and the Highland Park High School Clan of 1966. He previously was very active in the Dornwood Baseball and Softball Associations, the Highland Park Booster Club, the Habitat for Humanity, and the Highland Park Optimist Club. He loved sports, especially KU Basketball and the Kansas City Royals. He also loved music.
Kenn married Janice D. "Jan" Bennett on August 10, 1969 in the First Christian Church in Cheney, Kansas. She survives. Other survivors include two children, Misty Rogers, Kris Rogers, his four-legged kids, Tigger and Buffy and several first cousins.
Kenn was preceded in death by his sister, Merisue Rogers.
A Celebration of Kenn’s Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 25, 2022 at the Highland Park United Methodist Church where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. The family encourages those attending to wear your KU colors. Private inurnment will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Washburn University School of Nursing Excellence Fund c/o Washburn University Alumni Association & Foundation, 1729 SW MacVicar Ave., Topeka, Kansas 66604.
