Daniel J. Warren, 69, of Berryton, KS, passed away at home on June 17th, 2022. Dan was born to Elmer & Gloria (Ford) Warren on May 1st, 1953 in Topeka, Kansas. Dan graduated from Topeka High School, and later went on to study Business at Washburn University, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in 1977. In 1972, he married Joyce Shannon. Dan was employed with BNSF for over 40 years, retiring in 2017.

Dan was known for his lifelong love of hunting. For over 25 years, he would go elk hunting in Montrose, Colorado and deer hunting in Onaga, Kansas. He was involved with the Kansas Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation, serving as the treasurer.

Preceding Dan in passing are his parents. He is survived by his wife Joyce of 50 years; and three children, Nicole (James) Covington of Denver, Travis Warren of Berryton, & Trent Warren of Topeka. Also surviving Dan are his three siblings, Dale (Maggie) Warren, Darrel (Mary Ann Shrake) Warren, & Becky (Steve) Baum, all of Topeka, Kansas.

Visitation will be held on Monday June 27th, from 3-4pm at Dove Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road. A Memorial Service will follow at 4pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Helping Hands Society of Topeka or Midwest Transplant Network. In 2017, Dan received a lung transplant for Pulmonary Fibrosis. The gift of this transplant allowed him to enjoy future years with his family and friends.
