Diane and family:
I met Bill through the my work at the Kansas Legislature, specifically through my staffing of the Senate Financial Institutions and Insurance and House Insurance Committees for the past seven years. Bill was always willing to share his knowledge and experience with me, answer questions and I was always thrilled on those few occasions when I could return the favor. I had the utmost respect for him and I was proud to be able to call him my friend.
I will miss Bill greatly - I'm sure that your loss and grief must be immeasurable. My heart goes out to you at this difficult time, with his unexpected loss.
My sincere condolences to you all.

Diane, our deepest sympathies to you, Sarah, Tanner and families. We have such fond memories of you, Bill and Sarah from Kaney’s special freshman year at Missouri Southern. Sarah was such an inspirational leader to each of the girls on the soccer team. We’ll always have a special place in our hearts as you opened your home to the team and we parents. We still cherish a picture of Kaney curled up on Jim’s lap in your huge comfy leather chair. Jim and I also had several occasions to carpool to/from soccer games with Bill. He was always a cheerleader with such a kind and caring heart. May you find comfort in these messages and the wonderful memories they hold. Our hearts and prayers go out to you and your family.

I was so saddened at the news of Bill's passing. I had the privilege of working with Bill as he represented State Farm for many years.
Bill was an incredible colleague and it's hard to imagine work without him. He will be missed.
My thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time.

Bill & I were good friends in Jr & Sr High School. I always knew he was destined for greatness. He was so smart, motivated, determined, focused, and talented - he excelled in everything he touched. He was a kind, loving, devoted person.
My deepest sympathy goes out to you and your family.

Dear Diane and Family,
I'm so sorry to hear of Bill's passing. I didn't have the opportunity to meet Bill, but all the accomplishments listed in his obituary showed Bill's life was lived to the fullest. May the memories give you peace.

Bill was such an incredibly special man and we feel so blessed that we were able to call him a dear friend. He touched us in so many ways, with his incredible laugh, kindness, generosity and loyalty, to name a few. He will be dearly missed. He was so important to many of the people in Napa Valley and his absence will be felt for a long time. Our thoughts, love and prayers go out to you, Diane, Tanner and the rest of the Sneed family. Bill, we loved you and are quite heartbroken that our time with you is behind us. We know you are in an amazing place right now drinking some incredible Napa Valley Cabernet.

David, Jeff, Angie, and Mark:
My heartfelt condolences to you all on Bill's passing. Although my memories go back to middle and high school with him, I remember what a special person he was and his wonderful laugh. He was a friend to all and helped anyone who needed a lift up or a little extra coaching.
I have great memories of Bill, David and I playing basketball on your family's driveway into the early morning hours. Always was a good time at your house.
May the Lord bless and comfort you in this time.
Sincerely,
Mike Strader

Diane,
Terry and I were very saddened to hear of Bill's passing. From law school on Bill was my partner and business colleague but most importantly one of my dearest friends. I could always rely on him for counsel and help no matter the circumstances. Many like me and in fact the entire community will miss his tireless efforts to make things happen for the benefit of all.
I know he cherished his family greatly and my hope is that you, Tanner and Sarah will take comfort in that.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you, and in she spirit of Bill, I stand ready to help you all at anytime.

Dear Diane, Tanner and the rest of Bill’s family—Barclay and I were stunned and so very saddened to learn of Bill’s death. Bill always had a great smile and a hearty laugh for anyone who was lucky enough to cross his path on any one day. No one knew Kansas insurance issues better than Bill and no one understood Kansas politics better than Bill. Barclay and I hope that every loving and special memory of Bill provides all of you with some comfort while you endure this incredibly tough time.
Our love to all of you, Barclay and Frank Ross

Grief never ends…….but it changes.
It is a passage, not a place to stay.
Grief is not a sign of weakness,
nor a lack of faith…………………..
It is the price of love.

I write through tears after hearing of the death of my dear friend Bill Sneed. I can find no answer to why he was taking from this earth so soon except that God knew he had lived several lifetimes on this earth already. He was a friend to everyone whom he met. No one could match his generosity. His ebullient personality energized any room he entered. Looking at his life of service one wonders he was ever able to find the time to practice law but he did it with great distinction. And all who knew him remember his profound love for Diane, Sarah, Tanner, their spouses and his thrill at becoming a grandfather.
I was fortunate to be able to serve on the board of directors of one of his favorite charities with him. I would sit quietly watching him while the conversation waxed on from the business at hand into less than productive talk. When it had gone on long enough in Bill’s mind and someone made a cogent comment, Bill would quickly interject, “Well, that’s a Big 10-4!” And we knew it was time to move on.
Like few others, Bill Sneed will always be in our hearts as we remember each moment we were blessed to be with him and to learn from him.

I am so terribly sorry for your loss. Bill was a man of rare stature and thoughtfulness. I worked with him in my role representing State Farm's law department, but I cherished even more his friendship and spirit of fun in what could sometimes be stressful work. He knew his business better than anyone else on the scene. We couldn't have had a better person working with us in Topeka. I will miss his support and partnership.
~ Roland Spies - August 1, 2022
Diane, I’m so sorry to read about Bill’s unexpected demise! He was a great attorney and a good friend. He served the KTA as General Counsel with distinction. I wish I could be there for his service but travel is pretty much out of the question anymore. Rada and I are living near St. Augustine, FL It is hat for us to believe we have been retired nearly 28 years. We have fond memories of business trips we once took together. We have a great picture of Diane, Kathleen Butler and Rada in NYC on 18 Jun 1990.

I am saddened by the passing of Bill. My heart and prayers go out to you, Diane, and to your children and grandchildren. There are epic tales to be told about the encounters of the Sneed and Wellman families. Our parents being the dearest of friends and the 11 children that came together for K. U. Football games and other events. Such fond memories of these times. I wish I could be there in person to pay my respects and share a story or two. Bill was a great friend, a consequential leader in his work, and obviously a tremendous family man. May the Peace of the Lord be with you all. May Bill Rest in Peace.

Bill was like a father to all of us in the wine world. He called me one of his “kids”. I met him 15 years ago when I started my first job in the Napa Valley at Barnett Vineyards. Bill lovingly followed my career in the wine industry until the day he passed - supporting the projects I represented and truly caring about not just the wine…but the friendships and moments it brought with it.
I could go on and on how much Bill means to be, but to keep it short…he was a true friend. One of the best. I’m so lucky to have had the time with him that I did.
Sending my love to Diane.

This is so hard to write. Billy as I knew him growing up was a little boy who had a big imagination. He loved many different cartoon characters. From Huckleberry Hound to Yogie Bear. And would take on their character. He was loved by so many cousins. We all knew Bill would grow up and do great thing. As I read his obituary I wasn’t surprised by all of his accomplishments . I truly expected it to be full. William Wayne “Billy” to Bill fly high you will be missed. May God Hold you in the Palm of His Hand.

As a current member of the 437 board of education, I want to send my condolences to Bill's family. Bill was a great leader for our district and led our district through a very important bond issue.
I also enjoyed working with Bill at the KS Legislature. He was such a great mentor to so many young professionals in our business. He will certainly be missed.

I have just learned of Bills passing and am so sad and shocked.
Over the years that I have known Bill his stalwart friendship, unwavering support, and generosity have been so meaningful and left a lasting impression on me personally and professionally. He leaves behind a great legacy and some big shoes to fill. My condolences to Diane, Tanner and Sarah for their loss. I won’t forget you Bill, my friend and kindred spirit.

The first time I saw Bill run the 220 yard sprint, he reminded me of the Greek God Mercury. I think it was in 8th grade. It was ran from north to south with the prevailing wind. We ran it in a straight line instead of around the curve. His stride looked beautiful in the sun and the blue Knight uniforms. I was the same age and I felt jealous because I knew I had my work cut out for me. We became fast friends and team mates. He had some powerful legs and they served him well. We were both on an indoor and outdoor state championship team in track and field. We were also on several state championship relay teams. We used to pile in Bill's old car and go down the the state line for a couple of beers. I have many great memories of Bill and he will be missed. Thoughts and prayers to all his extended family and the Sneed's
