Shirley K. Calvert, 84, of Topeka, passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2022. She was born December 7, 1937 in Ida Grove, Iowa, the daughter of Leo C. and Amelia M. (Whittmaack) Harris.

Shirley graduated from Effingham High School. She was employed as a cook in the food industry for over 56 years which included Moma's Cafe for 23 years before retiring. She was of the Methodist Faith and was a member of the American Pool Players Association.

Survivors include children; Kathryn Sudduth, Gene Kern, Leonard Keen, Elizabeth Vincent and James Calvert, 19 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

Shirley was preceded in death by her son; Dennis Kern, and all of her siblings; John Harris, Norman Harris and Eldon Harris, Karen Bagwell, Wendell Harris, Kenneth Harris, Leslie Harris and Wilbur Harris.

Graveside inurnment services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 7, 2022 in Larkenburg Cemetery.

Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. is assisting the family with service arrangements.
