Francis Ray "Frank" Coufal, 74, of Topeka, passed away on Friday, January 13, 2023 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka. He was born March 5, 1948 in Grand Island, Nebraska, the son of Elvin F. and Betty J. (Zentner) Coufal.

Frank graduated from McCook High School in McCook, Nebraska in 1966 and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from the University of Nebraska in 1972. He was employed as a Civil Engineer for the State of Kansas for 43 years before retiring. He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church.

Frank married Juanita Black on August 8, 1970 in Lincoln, Nebraska. She survives. Other survivors include three children, Stephanie R. Coufal of Topeka, Dawn M. (Bryan) Shupe of Holton and Lance B. (Aubrey) Coufal of Topeka, seven grandchildren, Chelsea (Caden), TJ, Deklin, Deyton, Averi, Joely and Landry and his step-mother, Triena Coufal of Las Vegas, Nevada.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 27, 2023 at Christ the King Catholic Church. Inurnment will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Midland Care, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, Kansas 66606 or to the KSU Cancer Center, 1 Chalmers Hall, Manhattan, Kansas 66506.

Dove Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd. is assisting the family with service arrangements.
