Scot D. Keil, 63, of Topeka, passed away Friday, January 20, 2023.

He was born July 23, 1959, in Topeka, KS, the son of John W. and Phyllis J. (Fulton) Keil.

He graduated from Shawnee Heights High School in 1977 and furthered his education at Kansas State University in Manhattan, KS.

Scot was employed by the Kansas Department of Transportation as an Engineering Technician.

Scot married Cheryl K. O’Hare in Shawnee County on July 28, 2000.

Survivors include his wife, Cheryl Keil of the home; son, Chris (Jessica) Keil of Topeka; grandchildren, Brody and Mason Keil of Topeka; father, John Keil of Topeka; brother, Randy Keil of Berryton; niece, Crystal Keil of Topeka; uncle, Robert (Merta) Fulton of Topeka; mother-in-law, Virginia O’Hare of Lafayette, CO; brother-in-law, Steve (Gigi) O’Hare of New Raymer, CO; sisters-in-law, Denise (Darrell) Curtis of Torrington, WY and Karen (Timothy) Pipp of Thornton, CO; his beloved dogs, Duke and Cassie and many other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother and a sister, Tamera Keil.

Scot was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan married to an avid Broncos fan. He had a love for animals and enjoyed hunting, billiards and playing golf.

Honoring Scot’s request cremation is planned. A Celebration of Scot’s Life will be held at 5:30 pm on Friday, January 27, 2023 at Thunderbirds Grille, 2920 SE Croco Rd., Topeka, KS 66605.

Dove Cremations and Funerals Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd., Topeka, KS 66610 is assisting the family.
