Cheryl Keil & Family,
Joe & I wished we could have known Scot longer. We are at a loss for words. Whenever we saw Scot we knew you close behind. It was always a delight to see you two together, constantly happy. Scot had a knack and charisma for life. The captivating smile he wore would make any woman blush.--I adored his beautiful smile. He continually shared his zest and enthusiasm for life with his friends. I can honestly say he knew how to “rock” wearing his Hawaiian shirts! The last time we all got together it was for lunch for taco Tuesday and while we were waiting for our food Scot talked about his legendary spaghetti sauce recipe. By the end of the conversation my mouth was salivating. Dang it, I never got to try his spaghetti sauce. Please know we are thinking of you and our most deepest, heartfelt condolences are with you and your family.

Chris and family,

I am the mother of David Olberding who was a very close friend to Scot during their school years at Shawnee Heights JR and HS years. In fact, they were on the JR & SH golf teams together.
I don't know if Scot knew that David had Covid-19 in 2020 before the shots, he got it from one of his students that he taught golf to at Mel Sole's Golf School at Pawley's Island SC. He seem to have the long term and still was carrying some of the symptoms even though he received all the shots. He was having trouble being tired all the time and had occasional chest pain and heart palpitations. He just thought that it was because of working outside in the humidity and swinging golf clubs while teaching.
He had to move so my daughter, Terri, and I went down in August 2022 to help pack and move. We stayed until after Labor Day. Then we got a call on September 26th that David had a massive heart attack on September 25th or 26th. He didn't go to work so his employer called someone to do a welfare check on him as he never missed coming to work...when the apartment manager and Rose, the wife of his employer, went to his apartment they found him on the floor in kitchen and he was not breathing...they called 911 but he could not be revived, so my David went to heaven to be with his earthly father and his heavenly father. My heart is shattered, I will never be the same, I miss him so.
I just wanted to tell you that David was waiting in Heaven for Scot and I am sure they will be checking out all the golf courses in heaven. Words will not wipe away your tears and hugs may not ease the pain, but hold on to your memories because forever they will remain. We are going to have Memorial Service for David on April 1st, at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 Urish Road, Topeka, KS. I am not sure of the time I believe it is 2:00 - 4:00 but Kevin Burton will know as he will be one of David's close friends who will be speaking...Love Donna

Going on hunting trips with Scot, my dad, and the dogs are special childhood memories of mine that I won't forget! I'll always remember bird hunting and whenever the dogs would bring back the birds, Scot would always say if it wasnt a "head shot" it must've been someone else that got it. Always saying he had the best aim, and it was true! The long truck rides to Fairview and other spots were fun and memorable moments hunting.
Scot and my dad were best friends, but he extended that friendship to me as well, which I'm thankful.
Rest In Peace, Scot.

I was devastated to hear about Scot’s passing. He was such a joy to have as a patient and made my work days so much brighter. I’m so glad I was able to meet him and be the one to wheel him out when he got discharged right before Christmas. I will never forget the sassy looks he always gave me every time I walked in the room. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

I am just so sorry to hear about Scott passing. He was a great co worker and worker for the State of Kansas. I was proud to know him. With his love of grandson, Brody, golf, sports, football, life.
I will always be grateful for the Keils inviting me to Thanksgiving dinner. I only wish I could have visited them again. Scott had his love for Cheryl, golf, grilling, and his dogs, traveling.
We are all going to miss Scott dearly. God bless him and Cheryl. And his family.

Several years ago we brought Alma to a family reunion. Our daughter in law,Jane’s mother rode with us and visited friends in the area. Either while waiting for her friends or when they brought her back on Sunday, She and Scott discov’ered they both attended K State. Betty was thrilled to meet another K State person and a couple from Kansas, her home state. Thoughts and prayers for your all.

I remember Scott and Cheryl coming thru the drive thru window when I worked at Gallegos Liquor Store on Seward and remembering that they were always such a loving couple and always laughing and happy! Thought to myself what a beautiful couple! R.I.P. Scott

Cheryl, so sorry that Scot didn't get to really enjoy his retirement. Glad you both got to make a lot of fun memories over the years. So many nights shared at Reeds. The Landing and T-birds. I recall he always liked to call the ladies 'sweetheart'. Hugs and prayers and healing.

I will never forget all of our golf matches, hunting trips, backgammon games, playing billiards. You were my best friend my whole life. I will miss you very much. I will never forget all of our memories. Man, we had a lot of fun! I have to admit, you always had a sweet draw on your drives buddy.
Rest in peace brother!!

Scot was such a good friend to my dad and was always so incredibly kind to me growing up and always staying in touch calling and talking with me as a kid asking about my day and just being goofy. A funny memory of mine is anytime Scot would call the house he would pretend to be the a pizza delivery guy hahah I have nothing but good memories of Scot and the friendship he had with my dad showing you can truly have life long friends. He will be greatly missed.

Scott was the best pool player on our team.
~ Gary Mutschelknaus - January 24, 2023
I have known Scot since 7th Grade. He was smooth and easy going, just like his golf swing. Scot did not have a mean bone in his body. He was respected and well-liked by all of his classmates. Scot will be greatly missed.
